Since 24/09/2012, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students of all Universities and Technological Educational Institutes (TEIs) in the country may submit their application electronically for the issuance of a new academic identity card.
The new identity card features enhanced durability and strong security characteristics against counterfeiting. In addition, it has been designed to remain valid for the entire duration of the student status and to support multiple uses beyond the Student Pass. The cards are delivered to the collection point selected by each student during the submission of their application, free of charge.
The new identity cards indicate the exact validity period of the Student Pass entitlement. In cases where the student is not entitled to a Student Pass, the card serves solely as a standard identity card.
In addition, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, another social service is provided. Each student has the option to declare any allergies they may have, as well as whether they are or wish to become an organ donor. The declaration of this information, as well as its inclusion on the Academic Identity Card, is entirely optional. After the Academic Identity Card is printed, all information related to allergies and organ donation is deleted from the Central Information System.
